一个USA的感恩节的故事
Today at my office, my friend Soo told me that she actually TOOK a frozen turkey to China last year. Her husband was in China working, and she went to celebrate Thanksgiving with him while he was there. The customs agents actually LET her take the frozen turkey through customs. You aren't supposed to take foods or those things in and out of countries, BUT she did. AND she took cranberry sauce, corn, dressing and all the other American foods for Thanksgiving. HOWEVER, when she got there with EVERYTHING, the hotel her husband was staying in would NOT cook the turkey! She and her husband had a microwave in their room. They walked about one mile to get the right dishes AND a knife to cut up the turkey so they could microwave it. Then they also bought a can opener to prepare the other dishes. AFTERWARDS, they found out that all of the large American hotels in Shanghai and Beijing have a Thanksgiving dinner just for Americans that are there during the holiday for work or vacation! Oh Well!
Can you believe it? - next Thanksgiving you'll just have to travel to Beijing or Shanghai and have Thanksgiving - do you think you still need to know the words Mayflower and Pilgrims???
