英语四六级简称CET-4.CET-6.
全国大学英语四、六级考试(以下简称“CET”)系教育部主办、由教育部考试中心组织实施的全国统一标准化考试，考试目的是检测在校大学生的英语能力。
从2005年1月起，成绩满分为710分，考生只需要在考试当中获得425分或以上就算通过考试。

大学英语四、六级考试的分数报道采用常模参照方式，不设及格线迹旦。四级考试的常模群体选自全国16所高校的约大州薯三万名非英语专业的考生每次考试等值后的卷面分数都参照常模转换为报道分。四、六级考试报道总分为710分.
公式中TotSco表示总分，X表示每位考生常模转换前的原始总分，Mean表示常模均值，SD表示常模标准差。
每位考生的报道分在常模群体中都有一个相应的百分位位置。下面的表1和表2是大学英语四、六级考试报道分数常模百分位对照表。

1、选修《大学英语六级》的学生，如果该后续课程考核合格，其《大学英语A3》课程成绩将依据其第二学期参加全国大学英语四级考试成绩认定，具体认定办法：全国大学英语四级考试成绩425分，对应认定成绩85分，四级成绩每增加5分，认定成绩加1分，100分封顶。
2、选修《大学英语六级》的学生，如果该后续课程考核不合格，其《大学英语A3》课程成绩将被认定为不及格，需按照相关要求重修《大学英语A3》课程，且不能再选修《大学英语六级》等后续课程。

如果是基础教育阶段，那么3级等于是初中一年级结束时应该达到的水平。
如果是大学的3级，那就不同了。通过大学3级考试，词汇量至少得5000个左右，语法知识已经比较全面掌握。

11 We've been able to make up the difference in income by cutting back without appreciably lowering our standard of living. We continue to dine out once or twice a month, but now we patronize local restaurants instead of more expensive places in the city. We still attend the opera and ballet in Milwaukee but only a few times a year. We eat less meat, drink cheaper wine and see fewer movies.
